The 2025-26 Daido Life SV.LEAGUE Round 18 GAME 1 was held on Saturday, March 21, at Kotobuki Arena Chikuma (Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture), where OSAKA BLUTEON (hereinafter referred to as "Bulteon") faced off against VC Nagano Tridents.
[Set 1]
In the early stages, the team successfully took a 7-5 lead thanks to service aces from Kai and Tomita. In the middle of the set, they continued to build solid attacks from stable serve receives, scoring side-outs. Nishida also played a central role in the offense, and late in the set, Kai's serve disrupted the opponent's reception, leading to a break that put the score at 20-16 and forced the opponent to call a timeout.
Although the score narrowed to 22-20, Tomita scored to shift the momentum back. In a tight 24-23 situation, Pong made a block to secure the set 25-23.

The teams traded points from the start, but a service ace from Nishida made it 12-8. In the middle of the set, the team maintained their lead by executing fluid, coordinated attacks initiated by Blizard.
Bagnas was brought in as a relief server, which worked as planned, and a block by Pong extended the lead to 19-14.
Late in the set, following a serve receive by Yamamoto, Tomita spiked a sharp cross-court shot, and the team maintained their concentration to take the set 25-18.

Although they extended their lead with four consecutive points in the middle of the set, the opponent took control, scoring four straight points to narrow the gap to 15-13, forcing a timeout.
After that, the team struggled to play their game under pressure from the opponent's serves and blocks, falling behind 17-19. Bulteon brought in Nakamoto to strengthen their defense and stabilize the play.
Entering the final stages trailing 19-20, a service ace from the substitute Bagnas turned the game around to 22-21, but they were caught by the opponent's block again, forcing them to play from behind.
The close match went to deuce, where Blizard made a go-ahead block. The team then steadily converted points, and finally, Kai finished a rally to win the set 29-27 and secure the victory.

Given that, I am very glad we were able to find a strategy to win.
At 15-9 in the third set, we couldn't side out, and it was a clear instance where we weren't doing what we needed to do. We were missing the opportunities we created for ourselves, so I want to make sure we correct that in the future. However, I want to praise the players for coming back on their own without letting the opponent take the pace from us in that situation.
It was a tough match, but I feel it was very good that we won in straight sets and earned 3 points.

I think it was a good point that we were able to start the game well today.
However, we got caught in blocks and made mistakes in our transitions toward the end, so I think it is important to correct those things before tomorrow's match.
If the Bluteon can also bring out our own strengths against the opponent's tenacious volleyball, I think we can play a much better game.
